We know that for many of you, it’s important to share documents with clients that show pricing inclusive of VAT. So, we’ve made some changes to Ivy that allow you to do just that.

Here’s how you can make changes to your account to show pricing inclusive of VAT on your client-facing documents.

For all new projects

In order to show pricing inclusive of VAT on client-facing documents for any new projects, you’ll need to make the change from your account settings.

Head to My Account and select the Sales Tax tab. Under the section titled Client Tax Settings, check the box asking if you’d like to show pricing inclusive of VAT.

Now that you’ve made this change, your client-facing documents within newly created projects will show pricing inclusive of VAT. This includes proposals and invoices, as well as PDFs or spec sheets created from proposals and invoices.

Please note: for any existing projects you’ll have to make this change on the project level.

For existing projects

In order to show pricing inclusive of VAT for a project that has already been created, you’ll need to edit the project.

Click Edit Project, then scroll down and click Additional Settings to open the settings. Under the section titled, Client Visibility Settings, activate the button that asks if you’d like to show your clients pricing that’s inclusive of VAT. This change will affect proposals and invoices, as well as PDFs or spec sheets created from proposals and invoices.

Please note: this change will affect all documents under this project, including those that have already been published.

You can check the client preview image prior to sending documents to see that it reflects the changes.

Here’s what your clients will see

Your client will now see pricing per item that is inclusive of VAT on proposals and invoices. The Rate column will show the total price including VAT.

At the bottom of the proposal or invoice, the total will appear without VAT, as noted, “Total before VAT.” This is followed by the VAT, and then the total amount of the proposal or invoice.
