In certain situations, you may not be able to clip an image. While this can be frustrating, there is a way to save the image you need to the Clipper.

There are 2 possible reasons you may not be able to clip an image:

  1. The image quality is not good enough. Ivy does not allow you to clip images smaller than 70px. This is in place to protect you from saving low-quality images that won’t look good in your projects.

  2. The vendor site does not allow clipping.

How to add an image to the Clipper if you can’t clip it

There are 2 ways to successfully add an image to the Clipper when you can’t clip it.

1. Save it to your computer and upload

  • Right click the image and save it to your computer

  • Save it with a name you will easily remember

  • Open the Clipper and select the + symbol

  • Select the file you previously saved

2. Screenshot and upload

  • Take a screenshot of the image on your computer. Here’s how you can take a screenshot:

  • For Mac users: Press Command+Shift+4. Drag to select the area of the screen you want to capture.

  • For Windows users: Search for “snipping tool” in your taskbar. Use the Snipping Tool to create a screenshot.

  • Open the Clipper and select the + symbol
